After I came back from WPPI, I had two current students, Billy and Rachel, visit me from Hallmark Institute of Photography during their spring break. Now they could have staying in beautiful Massachusetts during their spring break, with all their thirty degree weather and all, but it seemed that California was a better choice. While they were here, they came and photographed the wonderful Abalos family with me. So I would like to introduce you to Rex, Jennifer and their two lovely children Jasmine and far to the left, Ethan.
I actually photographed Jennifer's maternity session when she was pregnant with Ethan before I went to Hallmark, so it was fun to see their whole family again after almost two years. Rachel, Billy and I ran around chasing Ethan and man, can that kid get around! We finally had a chance to corral Ethan into a family shot as well as get a great shot of Rex and Jennifer by themselves.
I'd also like to thank Billy and Rachel for getting some awesome behind the scenes shots of me working with the Abalos family. I think Ethan wants to be a photographer, he's already stealing my shooting positions.
Also during the shoot, my friends Augusto and Desiree came to visit us during the shoot as well. Desiree is Jennifer's sister and actually referred me for the shoot. It was also Augusto's birthday that day, so Desiree and I had a secret plan to lure him back the next day to the same location for a surprise birthday party and it worked to a tee! So happy birthday again Gus! You gullible guy.

Ok, so after the shoot, Billy, Rachel and I went to Cotixan, my favorite taco shop in San Diego (hey Cotixan! I plugged you guys! Give me carne asada fries!). You see, when I was attending Hallmark, I made friends with the equipment manager Joey who used to live in San Diego for a few years. Obviously, anyone who comes from San Diego, the first thing you talk about is California burritos (beach talk is overrated). So it was a coincidence that his favorite taco shop was also Cotixan. I would constantly rub it in his face that I am eating burritos all the time and he would always get real peeved. So I had to make him even more mad and document Rachel and Billy's first time eating the delicious burritos. I also bought him a Cotixan gift card, so that whenever he would make his way back to San Diego from the other side of the country, he can enjoy a delicious California burrito on me!
