Julie is a fellow photographer out of Seattle and was visiting New York with her husband Andy, which happened to coincide with their one year wedding anniversary. So it was definitely an honor to photograph their anniversary session in Brooklyn, on what was probably one of most gorgeous days you can ask for. DUMBO provided the backdrop for this awesome couple, can’t wait to hang with them in Seattle, enjoy.

The getting ready and the reception was held at the Hyatt Mission Bay in San Diego and their ceremony was held at the Immaculata on the University of San Diego campus. I had just photographed Blake’s sisters wedding the month before, so to see the same families again was definitely a treat. Thanks to the always awesome Maria Maltseva and Kim Marcelo for helping me with the wedding.

I had been wanting to do a series on friends of mine who are in the creative field and to observe them in their element. So I went over to hang at his apartment that he shares with his gal Drea, or to whom I lovingly refer to as Cheddar Bay Chuck, haha. So when we weren’t cracking up at whatever Mike and Chuck were doing, I got some cool shots in as well as portraits with Mike and Drea together because hey, I gotta show off the love.

They had a low key affair which was a lot of fun for me, just portraits and a party, what can get better than that? We started off at the Standard hotel then headed off to the Caltrans building in downtown Los Angeles to take advantage of the downtown views and awesome architecture. Then we headed off to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for dinner and dancing, enjoy.

We got to go onto the tarmac of San Diego International Airport and watching the planes takeoff and land that close was definitely an experience. I want to thank the staff of SAN for being so accommodating to us, they were just as excited about the shoot as we were!

You might remember them from our awesome engagement session we did in San Francisco. Their wedding was located at Murrieta’s Well winery, great photographs along with great wine. But first we had to do a “first look” and since Chi-Na and Jesse were wearing both the traditional Korean hanbok as well as the formal dress and suit, we got two. So enjoy the photographs and always thankful for my great friend Megan Welker for shooting with me.

So in honor of my move to New York, heres a gorgeous wedding that I did at Oheka Castle in Long Island with Laura and Tommy. The venue was gorgeous, the couple was classic, it was hard to stop snapping photos. A big thanks to Tim Ryan Smith who second shot for me.
